Secrets out, I’m obsessed with suncatcher stickers 🌈✨ (okay not that it was a secret at all 😂)
I heard that it was #smallbusinessweek which felt like the perfect time to reintroduce myself. So howdy, pals 👋🏼 I’m Kelsey, the illustrator and designer behind Best Wishes. In addition to making art I’m also a mom, wife, brand designer (@kelseydelangecreative), home schooling mama, dog parent, hobby baker, amatur yogi, book worm, outdoors lovin’ lady, and foodie among about a million other things.

I started Best Wishes back in 2011, just sharing my art on the internet with absolutely no idea where it would all lead and it’s been one of the coolest experiences of my life.

There’s been as many ups as there has been downs over the years and let me tell you folks running a product based biz in 2024 is not for the faint of heart, but it makes me love and appreciate everyone who supports the things I create that much more.

But regardless of any bumps that have been in the road I am so grateful for the life that this little biz has allowed me, the connections that I’ve made with thousands of awesome humans all over the globe, getting to make a small impact in their days and more than anything the ability to work from home doing something I absolutely love alongside my kiddo as he grows up.

I think it’s really cool to shine a light on small businesses because we really couldn’t exist without you, so supporting & sharing about your favorites is so so special and something I know all of us lil guys appreciate dearly.

If you’ve read this far, here’s a huge high five from me. Say hey in the comments and let me know a little about you too! I love getting to meet and connect with you! 🫶🏼
✨ 13 Years ✨ From the 18 year old kids who didn’t have a clue in the world (but thought we knew everything) to this beautiful life we’re building and the precious family we’re growing, I’m so happy to still be by your side after all these years.

Fun fact: We thrifted and lined this picnic basket when we first started dating and have kept it all this time. It felt fitting to incorporate it into our maternity photos as a special nod to just how far we’ve come 🥲 (swipe to the end to see itty bitty 18-year old us)
📣 We have reached our final destination 📣

Today is the last day ever that this sweet little shop of mine will exist and what a wild, beautiful adventure it has been. I never in a million years could have imagined that posting some art I was making at the time on the internet would have led to this. Over 10 years of living out my wildest daydreams with this as my job, getting to support my family doing something I absolutely loved and connecting with the most incredible folks around the WORLD while doing it. Pinch me! It’s still hard to believe it happened, and somehow even harder to believe it’s over.

I genuinely, truly, from the bottom of my heart to the tips of my toes cannot thank all of you enough for supporting this dream of mine all of these years and for coming full force in love and support as I close out this chapter and prepare to welcome our new baby in a few weeks (HOW ARE WE THIS CLOSE ALREADY?!). I’ve said it before but it truly is worth saying a million times over — the community that has supported my art is literally the most wonderful group of humans I’ve ever been exposed to, and the #1 thing that has made the decision to close up shop such an emotional one. I love each and every one of you and am eternally grateful for your support.

SO, before I actually cry, if you haven’t already go grab your final orders, stock up on thoughtful gifts for your loved ones for the holiday season ahead, or just send a little love and prayer my way as I work ‘round the clock this week getting these orders packed up and on their way to all of you.

Thank you for making the last 10 years absolutely magical. ✨
A few stills from the nursery so far just to appreciate all of the little details — anyone else forever a photos kinda person?

Some of my favorite things in here are the vintage rocking horse (my best marketplace find to date!), the handmade felted horses for his mobile + custom art for the walls, and the absolutely darling, Italian-inspired Soho Crib from @dadadababyusa, the sweetest gift for our little buckaroo!

Can you believe little dude is due to make his appearance in exactly a month?! 🥹🥹
I feel like this nursery has lived in my mind forever and it has felt absolutely surreal starting to bring it all to life. So much love has gone into this room from all of the little handmade details (like the felted horses I made for his mobile + custom art for his walls) and we’re not even finished! ✨

The highlight of the crib wall is, of course, the crib — I am so grateful for @dadadababyusa gifting us the crib of our dreams to celebrate our little buckaroo! Their Soho Convertible Crib is the start of the show in this space and I love their commitment to baby’s health & safety by using real hard wood that is lead and phthalate-free and non-toxic finishes so all of their products are safe for baby!

I’m so excited to share part two of the nursery soon, but in the meantime what is your favorite detail in this space? 🤠✨
It really feels like the end of an era folks ✨ At the end of this month the Best Wishes shop, something I’ve poured my heart and soul into for the last 10+ years will officially close as we prepare to welcome our son into the world. It’s hard to put this all into words but it has been one of the coolest adventures of my entire life getting to do this and it’s something I’ll always be so grateful for.

It’s still crazy to see what this all grew into — I never could have expected it to become my full-time job and to have had the opportunities that I did over the years when I started posting my art online. And it all happened because of you, which is so so special. I’ve met so many cool people through art and gotten to be a part of so many incredible milestones and moments in the lives of others, I’ve gotten to work on such cool projects and lived out so many of my dreams — there’s nothing else I would have rather been doing with my life.

And now, there’s nothing else I would rather do than fully focus on our family and this sweet baby that I have been hoping and wishing and praying for for the past 8 years. I’ve had a lot of thoughts and feelings (and a lot of incredibly sweet and sentimental conversations with ya’ll) over closing the shop but in the end I’m just grateful — I’m trading one dream for another and I know that it’s the best choice for who I am and where I am at at this point in my life.

Thank you all for being a part of it. Seriously.

As a final hurrah I’ve just added an additional 10% off all of the already marked down prices to help you to grab your favorites one last time. A lot is already out of stock or very very low! Use the code “GOODBYE10” — it even works on original paintings + prints which weren’t marked down before!
I’m officially in my third trimester ✨ and the nesting bug is REAL ya’ll. We have projects going on in just about every room in the house, ranging from larger renovations to smaller redecorating projects like this one.

The biggest project we’ll be tackling this summer is turning my home art studio into a nursery for the baby 🫶🏼 but before we get to that, here’s a simple budget friendly upgrade of the living room.

I know it’s subtle (my husband says you can barely tell a difference 😂) but it feels much more elevated and aligned to my taste and honestly I love it. And of course, here’s some a baby bump update for good measure 😉
Alright ya’ll, this is a bittersweet announcement to make.

As I’m sure you’ve heard by now our family is welcoming a very long awaited baby this fall, and with that comes a lot of change. The most important of which is my call to be completely present with my family in this new season of life. Which has lead to a decision that was both difficult and freeing, both sad and exciting: I’m closing the Best Wishes Shop.

What does this mean? Well, first and foremost it means that *almost* everything is marked down (we’re talking 30% - 70% off!) to help clear out any remaining inventory. Most things are already in quite low stock, I’ve also added all of my Halloween + Christmas goodies so you have one final chance to get anything and everything you’ve ever wanted and stock up on gifts for the holidays one last time. No codes needed, everything is already marked down.

This has been such a huge and special part of my life for over 10 years now, and saying goodbye is definitely bittersweet, I’m so grateful for this experience and all the connections I’ve made through this platform over the years.

Now, don’t worry. When I come back from maternity leave come January I won’t just completely stop making art. I’ll still be working in a very limited capacity offering art licensing and creating custom brands and art for other businesses (more at @kelseydelangecreative) and who knows maybe I’ll even do a limited run of art here and there, so this isn’t a full goodbye, just the end of an era.

(***exceptions to the sale include prints due to their made to order nature, and the magic mushroom mug as it’s in dangerously low stock. thanks for understanding!)
One of my best friends is throwing me a baby shower to celebrate the arrival of our little bestie, and not a single soul is surprised that I took over the task of designing the invitations. I genuinely can’t help myself 😂 Just look at how cute all of the little custom illustrations are 🥲 I think I’ll repurpose some of them into some kind of nursery art, or maybe even fabric for a baby blanket.

In other news we’re exactly 3 months out from my due date today and I am so excited to meet this little honey 🤠
It is still absolutely surreal feeling a baby wiggling around in my belly after 8 years of undiagnosed infertility.

My feet are swollen beyond recognition and I am so, so tired, yet this is the happiest I’ve ever been. It’s funny really, everyone wants to lament with me about how hard pregnancy is, and I’m just like “I don’t know what you’re talking about, I’m just so grateful to finally be here”.

I didn’t think I’d want to share much about my pregnancy, and I definitely never thought I’d be open about the struggles with infertility — at this stage in life I’m pretty private, but this baby has healed my heart in ways I never knew I needed.

Every appointment and milestone and kick feels like something worth celebrating.

I didn’t realize how deeply affected I was by our struggle to conceive until it was finally over. It’s really made me realize how absolutely precious and sacred this all is and it’s something I will never, ever take for granted.

If you’re struggling, please know my heart is with you and I hope your dreams of parenthood come true too.
Do you want your home to be filled with rainbow magic? 🌈✨ I’m absolutely obsessed with my suncatcher stickers and how they make every room feel like a magical little wonderland
Loved working on this recent client project, I’m always happy when I’m drawing cowgirls 🤠 And loved this simple monotone approach, a big change from my normal full color work. Which color version is your fav?
I really love grounding into a solid morning and evening routine—it sets the tone for the day ahead and helps me unwind after a busy day. That’s why I’m thrilled to share my excitement about my new cosmically inspired mugs! ✨ I’ve brewed up two super dreamy and delicious tea recipes to help enhance your morning and evening rituals, adding an extra touch of magic to your day. ✨

Wake up with the bright and bold energy of the sun as you sip on our morning tea mix:

1 tsp black tea
1/2 tsp rose
1/2 tsp jasmine

Or get comfy and cozy as you wind down for the evening with a relaxing evening tea:

1 tsp mugwort
1/2 tsp chamomile
A pinch of lavender
A splash of your milk of choice

Which one are you most excited to try? ✨ Do you have a specific morning or evening ritual that helps you to anchor into your day? I’d love to hear about it!
It’s the final prompt of #myfavoritethings24 and I’ve had so much fun cohosting this challenge. Our last prompt was “my favorite song” and since I love too many songs (mostly by Fleetwood Mac or Taylor Swift) to choose just one I wanted to make something fun and musically inspired.

Also, how weird is it that the cassette, a completely common form of musical technology from my youth is now considered “vintage” 😅 ooof, I officially feel old.

Shoutout to my amazing cohosts @createdbyginny @jag.ink @theinkingrose and @threeologie
A happy little cake for prompt 5 of #myfavoritethings24 just getting it in at the very last minute! Tag someone you’re so glad exists 🫶🏼

Here’s a little cutie for prompt 4 of #myfavoritethings24 “my favorite flower”. I first illustrated this piece for my coloring book “You Are Made of Magic” back in 2020 but I’ve always known I wanted to breathe some life and color into it and this felt like the perfect opportunity.

What is your favorite flower?

My Favorite Things challenge is hosted by me and @jag.ink @theinkingrose @threeologie and @createdbyginny
Today’s prompt for #myfavoritethings24 is My Favorite Book. As an avid reader who’s fallen in love with countless books over the years it would literally be impossible for me to choose just one, so instead I brought to life an idea that’s been floating around in my head for over a year now — this dreamy little “The Reader” tarot card who perfectly summarizes what it feels like to drift away into the dreamscape of your current favorite read 📖☁️✨

That’s why drawing challenges are fun, you truly can interpret these prompts however they speak to you. I’ve also made prints for anyone who is interested, you know where to find them 😉

I’m hosting this challenge with @theinkingrose @jag.ink @threeologie and @createdbyginny
I love this picture so I’m posting it on the internet, that is all 💁🏼‍♀️

I’ve long abandoned any rhyme, reason or strategy when it comes to Instagram. Especially because in the Wild West that is this algo, most folks don’t see your content anyway. Glad to adopt the mindset that none of it matters, and we should just have fun again because Lord knows there was a season of life where it felt very, very important. Let’s all just agree to laugh at ourselves (or even just me) for that, okay? 🤭
It’s time for prompt 2 of #myfavoritethings24, My Favorite Place. There are so many places that I really love, but nothing compares to my home state of Michigan.

If you’ve ever stuck your feet in the Great Lakes I’m sure you feel it too. A few years ago my husband and I had some pretty light conversations about moving away and I remember one day as we hiked along the beach “up north” declaring that I could never move away from the lakes. This place truly is magical in a way that’s hard to express.

Anyway, bonus points if you can identify the elusive beach stones I’ve illustrated here ;)

What is your favorite place?
